A two Bedroom, one-story Cape needed to grow to accommodate a family of four, with separate Studios for the parents and a Guest Suite. The footprint of the original House was already close to the legal setbacks on three sides.

The House could grow into the front yard, so we designed a two-story high front gable to add rooms on both floors. By raising the ridge and adding shed dormers, four rooms were gained on the Second Floor. On the First Floor, large openings between rooms provide flexibility in how the spaces are used.
