One-Room Schoolhouse

The Challenge

Built as one of Concord's first school houses, this Town-owned building in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery had fallen into disrepair over the years. The Town wanted it renovated for Town Offices while preserving its historical character.

The Response

This building was converted into a high-efficiency modern office by integrating special insulation, a heat pump mechanical system, LED lighting, energy-saving windows, and natural light into the design. Special features such as the original roof structure were partially exposed and showcased.
