The clients wanted a sun-filled House with passive solar heating. They had a south facing site that was very steep. Mature deciduous trees, if saved, could provide shade in the summer.

The House was designed with all public rooms facing south and all storage and service rooms on the North. The House was angled to track the sun's movement and to allow for different views from each room. Super-insulated walls and ceilings add to the energy efficiency.
